Product Description

All major steel components feature either a powder coated or galvanized steel finish. This ensures your mill will stand up to nature’s elements. We recommend covering your mill when not in use, but if you forget, it’s good to know the mill will endure nature. The head moves up and down along galvanized steel channel via a very easy to turn and well-located hand crank system. The blade is kept lubricated by utilizing a water drip system to prevent sap from gumming up your blade.

The mill is capable of cutting 26″ (66cm) diameter logs up to 10’ 5” (3.1m) long, squaring cants at 19″ (48cm) or skimming veneers at as thin as 1/16″ (1.6mm). The HM126 Trekker will cut within 1″ (25mm) of the deck ensuring you maximize your usable board foot output. Note: This trailer package can easily be upgraded to the 16’11″ (5.1m) XL version at a later date if desired.

The HM126 Trekker sawmill is powered by a 9.5 HP 4-cycle Kohler gas/petrol engine. It features a slant cylinder design, with a cast iron cylinder bore and overhead valve for easy access. The Quad-Clean 4-stage air filtration system ensures only clean air enters the engine for maximum power and life of the engine. In addition, this engine is backed by a 3 year commercial warranty. Attached to the engine is an industrial centrifugal clutch system which offers “gas and go” efficiency and ease.

Track System

The head of our machine rolls along rigid 2.5″ x 4″ (63mm x 101mm) galvanized “L” channel which is cross supported with heavy duty 3″ x 6″ (76mm x 152mm) rectangle channels. These cross supports ensure the weight of the log is dispersed over a large bearing surface to avoid marking the log with indentations. These heavy duty cross supports also provide additional rigidity to the track system. The track also features a simple adjustable log support to securely hold the log while milling. The track allows for 10’ 5” (3.1m) log lengths. This trailer package can easily be upgraded to the 16’ 11″ (5.1m) XL version at a later date if desired. The track system is mated to the trailer package which features 1/4” (6mm) thick laser cut and bent side plates and tubular cross supports making the two work together to create an extremely rigid chassis.

The HM126 utilizes standard 1.25″ x 144″ x .042″ (32mm x 3658mm x 1mm) Lenox Woodmaster hardened tipped blades which are available through Woodland Mills. Blade kerf is kept to a minimum at just .080″ (2mm) to maximize the most amount of lumber per log.

The sawmill is covered with a 2 year warranty against manufacturer’s defect and excludes wearing parts (tires, belts, blades & bearings). The Kohler engine is covered by a 3 year commercial warranty which is honoured through any Kohler small engine dealer.

  9. I was just enjoying an album showing all the great things that can come from owning your own sawmill. This prompted me to get together an album of my own showing a lot of the things I have done in just 2 short years with mine. My wife and I have built a great business (renting treehouses), and could NEVER have done it without our $4000 investment in our mill. Hopefully this can inspire some of you that are still on the fence about buying a mill. Truth is, they are priceless! Thanks - it has been a ton of work, and the mill has held up amazing throughout the entire project (3 years). TimberStone Adventures Inc. - Maine Treehouse Rentals & Disc Golf   And it is an awesome mill for the money, actually has been through a lot more than this. You can see the entire property that's been milled/built here Update: Latest project: 2 Months, 60+ hour weeks, 1200' elevation - and a lot of blood, sweat, and tears later...... 5 story livable lighthouse/tower, on the very top of our mountain. 100% milled/built on site. I logged and loaded the mill with a small 4x4 atv(with 10,000# winch mounted on the front) and several series of pulleys/cable scattered throughout the forest. The only electric power tool used to build was a portable 20v impact drill, most everything was cut with homemade onsite jigs and the chainsaw (I used over 5 gallons of chainsaw gas for this project). The ATV and mill were winched up the mountainside on the cable bridge that I built this Spring(can be seen in pics). The views are of all the Western Maine Mountains & White Mountains of NH. The tower can only be accessed by foot through our hiking trails, and the entire mountain top is bordered by 1000's of acres of the White Mountain National Forest. The interior and solar power installation are next, then a good long break for this guy!
