Animals have the ability to bring so much joy and companionship to our lives and as pet owners we want to ensure that they feel comfortable and loved. These sawyers have gone a step further by creating custom cozy homes for the animals in their lives. It goes to show that with a mill and a little imagination the possibilities are endless.
The Bees Knees
Andrew found a use for the shipping crate from his Woodlander trailer. After milling some white oak boards on his HM130MAX, he treated them with a burning technique called shou sugi ban. His bees are sure to love their new home.
Great Goat Lodge
This shelter is the perfect place to escape the summer heat or keep dry on rainy days - especially if you are one of Anshul's goats! After milling all of the ash on his HM126, Anshul couldn't wait to get back on the mill for the next project.
Cheerful Chickens
When his wife was suddenly gifted a flock of chickens, Don hopped on his HM126 and whipped up a coop. He managed to use what he had on hand including some small cedar logs, an old dog pen, and some odds and ends for roofing. The chickens seem to like the results and it cost almost nothing to build. The joy of owning your own mill!
Duck Island
James milled up some red cedar on his HM122 and built an adorable floating home for his ducks. The platform sits in the centre of the pond and is a great place to dry off, grab a snack, and warm up.
Dog's New Digs
Jeff and Felisha milled up a few logs on their HM126 to build this impressive doghouse. It was a lot of work, but the end result makes it all worth it.
