Four Years Later: Why Harmon Still Recommends His HM130MAX Woodlander ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Four years, thousands of board feet of lumber, countless farm projects, and one satisfied owner. Since purchasing his HM130MAX Woodlander in 2021, Harmon has relied on his sawmill to build and maintain his cattle farm while taking on custom milling projects for customers. Looking back, it's an investment he says has paid for itself many times over.
“Looking back now, it has proven to be one of the best investments I've made for my farm.” Harmon states.
Over the years, Harmon has put this sawmill to work in just about every way imaginable. Between projects around the farm and custom milling for customers, he's cut thousands of board feet of lumber with the HM130MAX Woodlander.
“It's processed everything from softwoods like cedar and pine to demanding hardwoods such as white oak, red oak, poplar, elm, and gum. Every species presents its own challenges, but the mill has consistently delivered accurate, dependable results,” he shares.
unlocking the full value in every log
“One of the more unique jobs I've tackled involved milling old utility power poles into durable fence posts and replacement posts for farm buildings,” explains Harmon. “Instead of letting usable material go to waste, I was able to turn it into something practical that will serve my operation for years to come. Having the ability to reclaim and repurpose timber like that is one of the many advantages of owning a sawmill.”
The impact the HM130MAX Woodlander has had on Harmon's farm has been significant. Much of the lumber he produced has gone directly back into improving the property.
"I've used it to completely rebuild my cattle catch pen, renovate multiple barns, and produce framing lumber, fencing, and countless other projects that would have been much more expensive using store-bought materials," explains Harmon. "Milling my own lumber gives me complete control over the quality and dimensions of every board while allowing me to maximize the value of the logs already available on the farm."
One feature that has made a significant difference for Harmon is the Woodlander XL Trailer Package. The ability to transport the sawmill directly to the logs or job site has simplified his milling process. By milling timber where it lies, he saves time, reduces labour, and avoids unnecessary wear on equipment used to move large hardwood logs around the farm.
“Perhaps the biggest reason I'd recommend Woodland Mills, however, has nothing to do with the equipment itself; it's the people behind it,” Harmon continues.
“Every interaction I've had with the Woodland Mills team has been positive. Their customer service has been exceptional from day one. Whenever I've had questions or needed assistance, I've spoken with knowledgeable people who truly understand the equipment and take the time to help solve problems rather than simply reading from a script. When the band wheel and toe board needed replacing, the warranty process was straightforward and hassle-free. The replacement parts were shipped quickly, minimizing downtime and allowing me to get back to work without missing a beat.”
sharing experience, inspiring others
Beyond his own projects, Harmon has become a valued member of the Woodland Mills Product Owners & Community, over the past four years. Through the knowledge and experience he's gained from operating his HM130MAX Woodlander, he's been generous in sharing practical advice, troubleshooting tips, and creative solutions with both new and experienced sawmill owners. Whether it's helping someone optimize their milling setup, offering guidance, or sharing lessons learned from years of farm use, Harmon is always willing to lend a hand. His willingness to support others reflects the strong sense of community that surrounds Woodland Mills owners, where experience is shared, and everyone benefits from helping one another succeed.
BUILT TO LAST
“After four years of ownership, thousands of board feet milled, and countless farm improvements completed, I can confidently say the HM130MAX Woodlander has exceeded my expectations and is worth every penny," shares Harmon.
"It's become an essential tool on my cattle farm, helping me build stronger infrastructure, reduce material costs, and take on custom milling projects with confidence. The HM130MAX Woodlander is backed by one of the best customer service teams in the industry. For me, that's a combination that's hard to beat.”
